Bio

George F. Wright III

Started his musical journey playing the piano when he was five years old. Later, at ten years old, George started guitar lessons and found the instrument that would accompany him for the rest of his life. An outstanding music student, he excelled at the guitar. He and his good friend, Mark Tiborsky played together in several rock bands. But even after George graduated from high school and progressed to the Cleveland Institute of Music and later the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, he and Mark continued their interests into technically difficult music that was not mainstream except for those that appreciated the brilliance of artists like Frank Zappa.

Bean Philosopher

Was a trio of musician friends from Euclid, Ohio who composed and recorded numerous pieces of music between 1979 and 1990. The three friends – George F. Wright III, Mark Tiborsky and Bob Lanphier – all played in and out of area rock bands during that time frame. In 1977, when they were all 16 years old, they started playing professionally as their first rock band, Bastille. Their drummer was Jim Tomsick, also 16 years old, and later, Bob Britton, age 15. Bastille broke up in 1978 and was followed by the The Time Between. That band included George F. Wright III, Mark Tiborsky and Walt Wolski on bass and Ken Johnson on drums. In 1980, they played the Euclid Festival and closed their set with “Eyeball.” Following a few seconds of stunned silence from the audience, thunderous applause erupted. The threesome of George, Mark and Bob soon after formed a new group, Bean Philosopher, a creative, fun and not all together serious outlet for their more alternative musical aspirations.
